Life Insurance

To accept a life insurance policy, American Red Cross Concord Area Chapter needs to become both the owner and the beneficiary of the policy. If the policy is paid up, your charitable contribution is generally the replacement value or cost basis of the policy, whichever is less.

Real Estate

Gifts of appreciated real estate are like gifts of appreciated stock. If you have owned the property for more than one year, you may deduct, as a charitable contribution, the fair market value of the real estate while avoiding all capital gains taxes.

Retirement Plans

These make excellent charitable gifts at the time of death. American Red Cross Concord Area Chapter can be named to receive all or a portion of whatever is left in the pension plan, IRA, 401(k), or Keogh plan.

Bequests

Bequests are gifts to American Red Cross Concord Area Chapter at the time of death under a will or trust agreement and are fully deductible for federal estate tax purposes.

Charitable Gift Annuities

In exchange for your gift of cash or marketable securities to the American Red Cross, we pay you (and a survivor or other beneficiary, if desired) a fixed amount annually for life. The transfer is part gift and part purchase of an annuity. The rate of return is attractive and the payments are guaranteed for life, without investment responsibilities.

Charitable Remainder Trusts

Charitable Remainder Trusts enable you to place cash, securities, or real estate into separately managed trust that will pay a lifetime income to you and/or other beneficiaries, with the principal of the trust eventually passing to American Red Cross Concord Area Chapter.
